Page Living and Investing in Switzerland

Switzerland offers a unique lifestyle, where security, stability, and tranquillity are part of everyday life. Set amidst breathtaking landscapes of crystal-clear lakes and majestic mountains, the country boasts a spectacular natural setting that is both unspoilt and accessible.

With modern and reliable infrastructure, efficient public transport, and one of the highest safety rankings in the world, Switzerland offers unrivalled living conditions.

A high-performing economy combined with a culture of mutual respect, a direct democracy attentive to its citizens, and a strong emphasis on discretion make it an especially attractive destination.

Living in Switzerland means embracing a truly refined way of life where comfort, security, and nature coexist in peaceful harmony.

Switzerland’s luxury real estate market is defined by the scarcity of properties and outstanding locations, particularly in the Lake Geneva region and the Alps.

From lakefront homes to residences in the heart of Geneva, and properties in the charming villages of La Côte and the Vaud Riviera, our portfolio offers a unique balance between natural beauty and immediate access to world-class amenities.

The Swiss real estate market remains largely protected from speculation (see LFAIE below) and demonstrates steady, measured price growth compared with neighbouring countries. This notable stability, combined with the strength of the Swiss franc, a longstanding safe-haven currency, and highly competitive mortgage and tax conditions, makes Swiss real estate a prime investment.

Access, however, remains subject to certain conditions.

The acquisition of property in Switzerland is governed by federal legislation, most notably the LFAIE (commonly referred to as the Lex Koller, formerly the Lex Friedrich). This regulation restricts the purchase of residential property by non-residents, with the primary aim of protecting the Swiss property market and limiting excessive speculation by foreign investors.

However, certain exceptions apply in designated tourist areas such as Montreux and many of Switzerland’s prestigious ski resorts, where international buyers may acquire property under specific conditions.

For many years, Luxury Places has been guiding an international clientele through every stage of the process, providing local expertise to help you understand the regulations, obtain a residence permit and acquire property in Switzerland under the best possible conditions.
